Expressions of Interest: Biodiversity Net Gain

From November 2023, all developers will be legally required to increase the biodiversity of their development site by 10% (with exceptions for some types of development.) This is known as 'Biodiversity Net Gain'.

If the Net Gain cannot be delivered on-site, there is an option for it to be delivered off-site, on a different piece of land.

Cornwall has adopted the 'Biodiversity Net Gain' policy early, requiring major developments to include a 10% Biodiversity Net Gain from 2020. Therefore, Cornwall Council are looking for landowners who are interested in potentially using parcels of their land for off-site delivery.

If you're interested, please submit your details in the form below, and someone from Cornwall Council's Nature Recovery team will be in touch. No commitment is expected at this stage at all.
